Delphi's Kokomo Operations Receives ISO 14001 Certification

TROY, Mich. - Delphi Automotive Systems' Kokomo Operations has been
certified to ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management
systems. The Kokomo Operations facilities manufacture a wide variety of
electronics products for mobile applications.

ISO 14001 is a management system that encompasses the organizational
structure, planning activities, responsibilities, practices, procedures,
processes and resources for controlling operations that impact the
environment.

A team of employees led the implementation effort that required input and
commitment from all Kokomo Operations employees. The steps taken to gain
certification included identifying aspects of the operations that impact the
environment, setting improvement targets, enhancing existing operational
controls and auditing the environmental performance to drive continual
improvement.

"The health and safety of every employee, their families and our community
is the overriding priority at all Delphi locations. Consistent with this is
our commitment to protecting human health, natural resources and the local and
global environment. Our environmental policy helps ensure continual
improvement in managing our activities that could affect our air, land or
water," said David M. Hendrickson, managing director of Kokomo Operations.
"Certification came through the efforts of our employees who have been trained
to understand their responsibility in the prevention of pollution. This
internal awareness and instilled discipline are designed to have a positive
impact on our environmental management efforts."

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide
federation of national standard bodies, at present comprising 127 members.
The object of ISO is to promote the development of standardization and related
activities in the world with a view to facilitating international exchange of
goods and services, and to develop cooperation in the spheres of intellectual,
scientific, technological and economic activity.
