Delphi's Kokomo Operations Receives ISO 14001 CertificationTROY, Mich. - Delphi Automotive Systems' Kokomo Operations has been certified to ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management systems. The Kokomo Operations facilities manufacture a wide variety of electronics products for mobile applications. ISO 14001 is a management system that encompasses the organizational structure, planning activities, responsibilities, practices, procedures, processes and resources for controlling operations that impact the environment. A team of employees led the implementation effort that required input and commitment from all Kokomo Operations employees. The steps taken to gain certification included identifying aspects of the operations that impact the environment, setting improvement targets, enhancing existing operational controls and auditing the environmental performance to drive continual improvement. "The health and safety of every employee, their families and our community is the overriding priority at all Delphi locations. Consistent with this is our commitment to protecting human health, natural resources and the local and global environment. Our environmental policy helps ensure continual improvement in managing our activities that could affect our air, land or water," said David M. Hendrickson, managing director of Kokomo Operations.
