Otis Elevator Company Transitions from Sherpa to SDRC Metaphase
CINCINNATI - SDRC , a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced that the Otis Elevator Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation, has selected Metaphase(R), SDRC's product knowledge management (PKM) solution, to manage information related to their product development process, including advanced product configuration and change control.SDRC announced its acquisition of Sherpa Systems Corporation in January (reference SDRC's press release(i) dated January 6, 2000). SDRC has structured a technology growth path to transition Sherpa accounts to Metaphase, while also enabling these companies to leverage their existing software deployments.
Otis Elevator Company is implementing Metaphase as its product knowledge management solution to manage documents, configurations, and engineering changes, and they will utilize Metaphase to access and share Pro/ENGINEER CAD data.
