David L. Neilson is Promoted to Executive Vice President - Sales and Marketing for INTERMETTROY, Mich. - INTERMET Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John Doddridge announced today that David L. Neilson has been promoted to Executive Vice President - Sales and Marketing. Neilson will continue to be a member of the Corporate Operating Committee and oversee INTERMET's Sales and Marketing group. He previously served as Vice President - Sales and Marketing. Commenting on the announcement, Doddridge said that Neilson has vast experience in the automotive industry, particularly within the supplier community. "Dave has made major strides in leveraging our leading position in cast-metal component manufacturing to become an even bigger, more diverse supplier to the automotive industry. And in order to better serve a very rapidly expanding customer base, Dave successfully restructured our sales and marketing groups after a number of recent acquisitions," said Doddridge. Neilson joined INTERMET in January 1997 after more than 29 years in the automotive industry. Prior to INTERMET, he was with ITT Automotive as Vice President of Sales for North and South America. Before this, Neilson was Vice President of Sales and Marketing with automotive parts supplier Takata, Inc., after serving as President of Sales at a subsidiary of Automotive Industries, Inc. He also served in a number of sales and marketing positions at TRW and Rockwell International. Neilson has a B.A. degree in economics from Albion College. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers as a quarterback and played professionally in 1966. With headquarters in Troy, Michigan, INTERMET Corporation is a full- service supplier of powertrain, chassis/suspension and structural components to the worldwide automotive industry. INTERMET also manufactures cranes and specialty service vehicles. The company has more than 8,000 employees at facilities located in North America and Europe.
