Githesh Ramamurthy To Serve As Chairman Of The Board
CHICAGO - CCC Information Services Group Inc. , which provides software and services to the automotive claims industry through its wholly-owned subsidiary, CCC Information Services Inc., announced the shareholders' election of its Board of Directors at it's annual meeting held June 28 in Chicago.Shareholders elected the following directors: Morgan W. Davis, Michael R. Eisenson, Thomas L. Kempner, Dudley C. Mecum, Githesh Ramamurthy, Mark A. Rosen and Herbert S. "Pug" Winokur, Jr.
In addition, CCC President and Chief Executive Officer, Githesh Ramamurthy, was named Chairman of the Board of CCC Information Services Group Inc. at the annual meeting of the Board of Directors following the shareholder meeting. Ramamurthy, 39, replaces Dave Phillips, who retires after serving as Chairman of the Board since 1988.
"We have a very exciting vision in terms of how we want to build and grow the company," Ramamurthy said. "I am honored and pleased to lead our Board of Directors in making valuable decisions to pursue and attain this vision."
Ramamurthy, who joined CCC in 1992, became President and Chief Operating Officer in 1997, and has served as CCC's Chief Executive Officer since July of 1999, will assume duties as Chairman immediately. "What really makes CCC stand apart from any other company is our people -- and we have the best," said Phillips. "CCC is in a great position today, and with the leadership of Githesh and the executive management team, CCC will take advantage of strategic market opportunities and continue its growth," Phillips added.
Phillips, 61, closes a 35-year career as a business executive and entrepreneur. Phillips, along with four partners, founded the predecessor of CCCG 18 years ago. It purchased CCC in 1988, and developed and evolved it into the leading supplier of software and services to the automotive claims industry. Phillips served as CCC's Chief Executive Officer from 1988 to June of 1999, and as Chairman of the Board of CCC Information Services Group Inc. from 1988 to June 2000. Phillips is now teaching business courses at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
