Wescast Announces Chrysler Neon Business

    BRANTFORD, Ontario - Wescast Industries Inc. has been chosen to supply cast exhaust manifolds for the 2.0L PL engine program for DaimlerChrysler's Neon vehicle.

    Wescast will manufacture the program at one of its iron casting facilities and then ship directly to the Tier 1 machinist who is currently tooled to handle this part.

    "This translates into an additional 280,000 pieces per year for three years, and approximately $4.3 million of additional annualized revenue for Wescast commencing the second quarter of this year," said Company President and CEO, Ray Finnie. "The decision to expand our manufacturing capacity recently has given us much more flexibility to handle more immediate customer requests such as this Neon program."
