Collins & Aikman Names Adams Plant Manager for Cavel Facility in Roxboro, North Carolina

    TROY, Mich. - Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced the appointment of Jack H. Adams II to Plant Manager for its Cavel Plant located in Roxboro, N.C.

    In making the announcement, Frank J. Preston, President of Collins & Aikman's North American Interior Systems said, "Adams' strong operational and manufacturing background will be a key driver in achieving our goal of producing high-quality fabrics--including our Ultra Cavelflex(TM) product line."

    As Plant Manager, Adams will be responsible for implementing the plant's operating strategy, ensuring consistency of manufacturing operations and identifying and implementing new product and process improvements. Additionally, Adams will be responsible for the facility's operating performance and production priorities. The Cavel facility in Roxboro employs approximately 500 individuals and is the finishing plant for automotive fabrics distributed to automotive manufacturers worldwide.

    Adams joins Collins & Aikman most recently as Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Zima, a finishing textile equipment company located in Spartenburg, S.C. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Operations, MIS & Human Resources for The New Cherokee, a shirting fabrics company in Spindale, N.C., as well as a manufacturing manager for three facilities of Milliken Corporation. Adams holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from Elon College in Elon, N.C.
