pcAnywhere Allows BMW To Provide IT Support to Dealers in Remote Locations
CUPERTINO, Calif. - Symantec Corporation today announced that BMW South Africa has chosen pcAnywhere, the leading solution for remote troubleshooting and helpdesk support, to support its countrywide dealer network. Symantec worked with AVS, a Symantec Corporate Partner, to secure the sale.IT professionals worldwide use Symantec's pcAnywhere for remote troubleshooting and helpdesk support, and for providing connectivity for remote and mobile users. This proven, comprehensive solution lets users connect to any computer anywhere and operate it as if they were there. IT professionals can more quickly identify and resolve user problems without traveling to the remote machine.
"Our dedicated 64KB-bandwidth network connects about 100 dealerships across South Africa, while various applications provide them with essential client information at their own desktop," said Attie Wilcock, technical infrastructure and application support for marketing systems manager at BMW. "Previously, our central support center could only solve IT problems on site, a costly process for nationwide support. After weighing several software solutions, we found pcAnywhere to be the most cost-effective product."
"pcAnywhere is a powerful solution for providing effective support," said Jako Voges, Symantec marketing manager for the Middle East and Africa. "Because IT professionals can manipulate the remote PC directly, they can experience the problem first-hand. This speeds troubleshooting and gives them full control of the remote computer for problem resolution while the user is on the line."
