Kia Records Best Sales Month in History

    IRVINE, Calif. - Kia announced on Wednesday that June was its best U.S.
sales month in history with sales of 16,140 vehicles.  This tops last June's
record of 13,593 and is an 18 percent increase from last month's sales.

    One of the major contributing factors to June's solid sales was the
Sportage sport-utility which notched a 127 percent increase versus last June.
This past month also marked the first time the Sportage outsold the Sephia
compact sedan.  At 74,535 vehicles sold, overall Kia vehicle sales are up
16 percent from last year.

    Kia Motors America is the U.S. sales, marketing and service arm of Kia
Motors Corp. in Seoul, South Korea.
