Nissan Division Sales Increase 21% For June

Trucks and Sentra Sales Lead the Upswing
CARSON, Calif. - Thanks in large part to continued strong truck sales, the
Nissan Division of Nissan North America, Inc. posted June sales of 59,721 units,
a 13% increase versus last year.
Xterra and Quest achieved June sales records with Xterra hitting 8,400
units, an increase of 54 percent over last year and Quest reaching sales of
5,565 units, a 47 percent increase versus last year. Pathfinder sales were
also up over last year with sales of 5,417 units, an increase of 25 percent,
while Frontier posted of 9,344 units, a 26 percent increase versus last year.
Division truck sales hit 28,726 units, a 37 percent increase versus last year.
In its 5th consecutive month of sales increases, Sentra led the sedan
category with sales totaling 8,277 units, a 60 percent increase versus last
year. Combined sales in June for both Nissan and Infiniti divisions totaled
67,086 units, a 16 percent increase versus last year.
Other sales highlights include:
-- Altima sales reached 11,986 units
-- Maxima sales closed at 10,731 units
-- June CYTD Nissan Division sales totaled 336,779 versus 277,571, up
21 percent
-- Combined Nissan and Infiniti sales for the first six months of the
year totaled 377,215 versus 309,104 up 21 percent
