Mazda Reports June Sales

    IRVINE, Calif. - Mazda North American Operations today announced U.S. sales 
of 25,327 units for the month of June, an 11.5 percent increase over the same 
period last year.  Overall, Mazda's year-to-date sales total is up 3.7 percent 
over the 1999 year-to-date figure.

    The MPV minivan, with its distinctive design, award-winning interior and
innovative functionality, recorded strong sales for the month with
3,552 units, up 923.6 percent over last June.  Sales of the Miata roadster
surged in June, reaching 2,303 units, up 30.3 percent over the year earlier
figure.

    Mazda expects to boost its overall sales with the launch of the all-new
2001 Tribute sport utility vehicle, arriving in dealer showrooms in August.
True to Mazda's heritage with attributes like tuned, multi-link suspension,
precise steering feel, car-like monocoque construction and an available
24-valve, 200-horsepower V6 engine, the Tribute is not just another SUV -- it
is an SUV with the soul of a sports car.

marketing, customer parts and service support of Mazda vehicles in the United
States.  Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., MNAO has more than 750 dealerships
nationwide and is owned by Mazda Motor Corporation, Hiroshima, Japan.
