Subaru Announces Strong June Sales Figures

Brand Posts Best June Sales Month in 12 Years

    CHERRY HILL, N.J. - Subaru of America, Inc. today announced sales figures 
for the month of June.  Subaru recorded a sales total of 14,297 units for the 
month, an increase of three percent from the same period last year.  Subaru 
continues to post strong sales increases, with year-to-date totals of 83,351 
units, up fifteen percent from 1999 year-to-date total sales of 72,245 units.  
This marks the company's best June total sales month since 1988.

    The Legacy model line lead sales with 7,926 units posted, up eight percent
from June 1999 Legacy sales of 7,329 units.  Outback accounted for 5,702 units
for the month, up 12 percent from June 1999.  Forester posted sales of
4,696 units and Impreza finished out the month of June with 1,675 units
posted.
