American Honda June Sales Continue Record-Setting Pace Into Hot Summer Selling Season
TORRANCE, Calif. - American Honda sales continued to rise in June, setting a
new company record of 104,818 for the month -- an increase of 16.1 percent
compared to June of last year -- supported by record Honda Division and light
truck sales.
Sales for Honda Division were up 15.6 percent to 92,245, showing increases
for Accord, Civic, Odyssey and CR-V. Odyssey sales increased by 117.3 percent
to 12,223, and CR-V sales were up by 37.5 percent to 10,905 -- contributing to
American Honda's June record for light truck sales of 25,206, an increase of
61.1 percent compared to June of last year.
Acura Division sales were boosted to 12,573, an increase of 19.7 percent
compared to June, 1999. The TL luxury performance sedan set an all-time June
record for the division at 5,964, up 22.5 percent from June, 1999.
American Honda year-to-date sales of 576,392 are up 10.1 percent compared
to the 520,092 recorded at this time last year.
