Volvo Sales for June Sets an All-Time Record

    ROCKLEIGH, N.J. - Continued strong sales for S40 and V40 combined with 
recently introduced 2001 V70 wagons helped Volvo achieve its best month every 
with a record sales of 14,073 units during June.  This is an 11.1% increase when 
compared to June 1999 and caps 17 consecutive months of year to year sales 
increases.

    VCNA President and CEO Mark LaNeve observes:  "June was a big month for
Volvo as we continue to exceed expectations with S40 and V40 as well as the
all new V70 sportswagon series.  Our S80 luxury sedan also performed well in
June and we are anxiously waiting the launch of our new all-wheel-drive Cross
Country, which we begin to ship in July.  We are well positioned to meet our
objective of sales volume above 140,000 this year."
