Exide Receives Mitsubishi Supplier AwardREADING, Pa. - Exide Corporation , the global leader in electrical energy storage solutions, has been recognized by Mitsubishi Motors Manufacturing of America as a recipient for The 2000 Model Year Supplier Award. Exide, which provides batteries for Mitsubishi vehicles produced in the United States, received The Supplier Award for Excellence for the quality of its parts and material, timely delivery and the competitive value of its products. During the 2000 Model Year, Exide supplied Zero Defect parts. Mitsubishi Motors Manufacturing of America has 294 suppliers in its Normal Illinois Plant. Exide was one of 29 suppliers to receive this award. Mr. Ron Gardhouse, Chairman Exide Holding Europe, Executive Vice President Transportation OE, stated, "We are pleased and proud that Exide's quality and commitment continues to be recognized by our valued customers." The batteries, which are used in the Mitsubishi Galant (built by Mitsubishi Motors Manufacturing of America in their Normal, IL Plant), are produced in Exide's Burlington, IA, plant.
