National Driver Training Company Offers Tips For Holiday Driving

    ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. - Heavy traffic, drugs, alcohol, and reckless drivers
are some of the risk factors nearly 31 million Americans will face when they
take to the roads this holiday weekend. Top Driver, the nation's largest and
fastest growing driver training company, is offering safety tips for the holiday
weekend aimed at decreasing the chance of driving related injuries and
fatalities this year. According to the National Safety Council, 645 people will
die and 4,200 people will suffer disabling injuries on the country's roadways
over the holiday travel weekend.

    "Safety should be number one in all drivers' minds, not just during the
4th of July weekend, but all year round," said Sebastian Giordano, President
of Top Driver. "The only way to reduce traffic injuries and fatalities is to
encourage all drivers, from novice drivers to members of a corporate fleet, to
take safety seriously throughout the year and regularly educate themselves by
following basic safety tips or undergoing additional driver training."

    Drunk drivers and alcohol-related crashes are some of the greatest hazards
facing motorists this weekend. According to AAA, 64 percent of vehicle
crashes that occur over the Fourth of July weekend historically are alcohol
related. Top Driver recommends that, if you plan to drink, choose a
designated driver or use public transportation to ensure that everyone arrives
at their destination unharmed.

    Top Driver provides these additional safety tips to handle and avoid
dangerous outcomes on the road.

    -- All vehicle passengers should wear their seatbelts;

    -- Make certain that any child restraint seats are properly installed;

    -- Plan a driving route ahead of time - Use maps or area guides and be
       aware of any detours, road construction or potentially hazardous road
       conditions;

    -- Be aware of adverse weather conditions - Check weather reports along
       your route;

    -- Avoid driving when feeling tired - Know where rest points are located
       and take frequent breaks on longer trips;

    -- Check your vehicle - Maintain the proper levels of oil, water, engine
       fluid, tire pressure and gas;

    -- Be sure to have an emergency kit - Recommended items include bandages,
       gloves, ointments, and potable water on hand.

    With approximately 220 driver training facilities, Top Driver is the only
driver training company to offer, on a national basis, various driver training
programs, such as novice training, defensive driving, insurance premium
reduction, traffic violator, specialty vehicles and corporate fleet training
as well as an array of driving related products, services and information.
