San Fernando Valley Family Receives Gift of New Minivan From Sage Automotive Group
LOS ANGELES--June 27, 2000--Vehicle of Its Dreams to Aid in Transportation
Needs for Their Daughter
Universal City Nissan, one of three Sage family automotive dealerships, gifted a brand new Nissan minivan to a young couple with a disabled daughter to aid them in transporting their child and her life support equipment.
"Universal City Nissan has gone beyond my wildest expectations," said Julie Lawrence, the child's mother. "We've had a rough time adjusting to our daughter's increased medical care needs, and the Sages are helping us meet those demands and responsibilities with their generous gift."
As a family whose father and sons work alongside one another in three dealership businesses, the Sages understand the importance of commitment to family. As part of their personal commitment, the Sages also saw to it that a television and VCR were added to the van for the Lawrence family.
Two weeks ago, Julie Lawrence approached Morrie Sage, owner of Sage Automotive Group, with a $10,000 grant check from Jewish Family Services. Ms. Lawrence sought a minivan to provide the additional room necessary to transport her wheelchair-bound daughter and her supporting medical equipment, and planned to use the grant as a partial payment on a used Nissan minivan. She initially requested a donation for the balance remaining on the vehicle.
After Sage learned of the Lawrences' situation, he was so moved by their dedication to their daughter that he arranged for the family to leave the dealership with a brand new 2000 Nissan Quest GXE model minivan. The new vehicle is valued at $25,000 and includes automatic windows and door locks, a television and a VCR.
"We are very proud to be in a position to help this young family by providing them with a new vehicle that will make caring for their daughter an easier task," said Morrie Sage. "We hope that our associates in the automobile industry will follow our lead in showing commitment to our customers and the residents of Los Angeles."
Sage Automotive Group owns and operates Universal City Nissan, Glendale Infiniti and Glendale Nissan. The company was founded in 1970 and is headed by longtime community benefactor, Morrie Sage. Mr. Sage is joined in business by his sons, Joseph and Lenny Sage, who respectively manage Glendale Nissan / Infiniti and Universal City Nissan. The Sage dealerships provide a complete range of new and used car sales and mechanical services at each of their three locations. In its commitment to serving its customers and the Los Angeles community, the Sage Automotive Group serves as a role model for other Los Angeles dealerships.
