Company Recognizes Customers for Its Award-Winning SuccessEDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - GE Capital Fleet Services announced today that it has won The Data Warehousing Institute's 2000 Best Practices in Data Warehousing Award in the category of "The Warehouse and the Web." TDWI's 2000 Best Practices in Data Warehousing Awards are presented to practitioners and solution providers that demonstrate innovative, best practice solutions that provide measurable impact on the business success of their organizations. In partnership with MicroStrategy, GE Capital Fleet Services developed a web-based fleet management system that allows its customers the ability to tap into a central data warehouse of fleet vehicle information. Using the system, customers can view/export bills; retrieve personalized, pre-defined reports; create customized queries; receive broadcast reminders and more. The award-winning application will eliminate more than 600,000 pages of mailed invoices and reports to customers each month, thereby providing customers with added productivity to effectively manage their fleets. "We are delighted to have been selected a winner of the prestigious Best Practices in Data Warehousing Award from TDWI," said Marian Powell, senior vice president of e-commerce at GE Capital Fleet Services. "This award not only goes to our committed staff, but to our customers as well. Their willingness to share their thoughts and insight as we developed our application was remarkable, and we thank them for their valuable contribution to our success." "The competition this year for the Best Practices Awards was once again very strong," says Ellen Hobbs, general manager of TDWI. "But several nominations stand out from the rest and truly demonstrate unique innovation and superior business practices from which others can follow and learn." TDWI's Best Practices Awards will be presented to the winners on Monday, August 21, 2000 at the Best Practices in Data Warehousing and E-Business Intelligence Conference in Boston, Mass.
