bielomatik inc Demonstrates Its Plastic Welding Technologies At NPE 2000

NPE 2000 -- bielomatik inc -- booth 1286. bielomatik inc will be presenting a full line of thermoplastic welding equipment incorporating laser, vibration, hotplate and finishing systems. Taking the theme, `We bring plastics together', bielomatik inc will be demonstrating the quality, precision and reliability of their manufacturing equipment. "Our goal for NPE 2000," explains Frank Buck, President, "is to showcase the technology, quality and the refinement of our equipment line-up. But more importantly, we want to demonstrate why bielomatik inc has achieved an unparalleled reputation for customer care and attention -- I'd like to think it's what sets us apart."

    Introducing the Laser-Tec 200

For the first time, it is now possible to weld rigid plastic moldings without the usual flash, debris and fines normally expected. Utilizing radiation transmission, this controlled heat introduction process enables the welding of precision parts with a wall thickness of some 1/10 millimeter. The new totally clean process is ideally suited for special sensitive components that cannot or should not be exposed to vibration or heat. Since only a very small zone is influenced by the process, it offers exciting possibilities in a variety of fields but especially in the production of medical components.

Absolutely no debris is produced during the welding process. Normally, there is a concern with such debris mixing with a transport medium such as liquid medicine or plasma. Initial trials were made with casings for underwater cameras, pump housings and keys with integrated electronics with great success.

Introducing the Laser-Tec 200 24 hr Service and Support

At NPE 2000, laser welding will be demonstrated using an automotive steering oil container. The new Laser-Tec 200 incorporates a visible beam to enable easy set-up and verification of the weld path. Scanner mirrors guide the laser beam over the welding surface and a 200 Watt ND-YAG laser system make it one of the most versatile laser systems available. Welding geometry can be incorporated via CAD and the machine is then self taught.

New Generation -- Vibration Welding Systems

Engineered for maximum reliability, the new and improved vibration welding equipment from bielomatik inc offers an economic solution for the welding of large plastic components. With three basic models and limitless variations available, bielomatik's vibration welding equipment offers a wide range of applications for mass production industries. The system can deliver optically flawless welding joints with no subsequent processing required.

Hotplate Welding Systems and Finishing Technology

Also on display at the bielomatik inc booth will be a high temperature, hotplate welding system. Simple to operate and offering low maintenance costs, this high temperature process is particularly suitable for the efficient welding of a wide variety of components requiring strength and hermetic sealing.

Where additional processing such as boring, profiling, punching or machining is required, bielomatik inc will be demonstrating its finishing technologies. A low temperature, hotplate welder and a chipless boring tool are simulated to weld a valve to a blow molden automotive fuel tank system.
