Alamo Expands in Canada; Halifax Airport Location Opens June 28

    FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Alamo Rent A Car continues to aggressively expand its presence in Canada with the opening of a new airport location in Halifax, Nova Scotia. On June 28, Alamo's newest location will begin serving customers at the Halifax International Airport.

    The new Halifax location marks Alamo's first location in the Nova Scotia province. Alamo has six other Canadian locations, including Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, and two offices in Vancouver.

    "Canadians have had a long standing relationship with Alamo since its inception more than 25 years ago," Alamo President Mike Going commented. "We're very pleased to bring Alamo's `Drive Happy(sm)' service to Nova Scotia. Halifax has always been known as the best point to start a vacation in the scenic Canadian Maritimes. Now Alamo customers can combine that experience with the great value of an Alamo car rental."

    Earlier this year, Alamo announced its intent to significantly increase its presence in Canada. In addition to the new Halifax office, this year Alamo has opened new locations in Edmonton and Vancouver and has moved to a new on-airport location in Calgary.

    Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Alamo currently serves more than 15 million travelers a year through 109 locations in the United States and Canada, and operates more than 400 international locations in Europe and Latin America. Alamo is a division of ANC Rental Corporation, a company scheduled to be independently traded on NASDAQ under the Symbol "ANCX" on July 3.
