Scania Selects EAI's VisFactory(R) Solution

19 June 2000

EAI's Solution to Standardize Factory Design, Layout, Analysis and Visualization

AMES, Iowa - Engineering Animation, Inc. , today announced that Scania, a
leading manufacturer of trucks and buses for heavy transport application based
in Sweden, has selected VisFactory, EAI's factory layout and design software,
as their international, corporate-wide standard. Scania implemented
VisFactory to create more efficient layouts using its 2D and 3D factory
design, analysis and visualization capabilities.

EAI's VisFactory enables Scania to move from a 2D layout drafting process
to a simultaneous 2D and 3D integrated analysis and visualization factory
modeling process. This process will streamline factory layout methods at all
sites, analyze and design new manufacturing layouts and improve efficiency,
productivity and output. VisFactory enables Scania engineers to reduce
factory planning time, verify factory designs before implementation and bring
factories online faster.

"We are using EAI's VisFactory solution to standardize our factory design
and layout system. VisFactory allows Scania engineers to create workstations,
production lines and factory layouts more effectively and in less time. This
enables us to improve the quality, speed and presentation of our production
designs and bring new products to market faster," said Anders Ohlsson, project
engineer for Scania's production development department.

Dave Sly, EAI vice president of Virtual Factory solutions, said: "EAI's
next-generation factory design and layout system streamlines Scania's
processes, enabling users to easily produce 2D and 3D factory models using
industry standards. EAI's VisFactory improves Scania's productivity by
enabling manufacturing engineers to evaluate, compare and recommend
alternative designs quickly and easily. Scania's selection of VisFactory
further demonstrates EAI's leadership in providing full-spectrum visualization
solutions to the manufacturing industry, from product visualization and
digital prototyping solutions to factory design, layout and modeling
software."
