IIS and PartsAmerica.com Announce $2.3 Million Contract

14 June 2000

IIS To Develop Site for Largest E-commerce Destination in the $90 Billion Automotive Parts and Accessory Industry

TEMPE, AZ - Integrated Information Systems Inc. has been selected by PartsAmerica.com to develop and implement what is expected to be the largest e-commerce destination in the $90 billion automotive parts and accessories industry.

PartsAmerica.com is a consortium comprised of CSK Auto, a Phoenix-based retailer of automotive parts and accessories operating more than 1,100 stores primarily in the western United States; Advance Auto Parts, a Roanoke, Va.-based retailer of automotive parts and accessories operating more than 1,600 stores in 37 states; and Sequoia Capital Partners, a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm with a strong record of funding successful Internet companies, including Yahoo! and eToys.

IIS has worked with CSK Auto during the past several years, including the successful development and deployment of its corporate website last year.

According to Larry Buresh, senior vice president and CIO for CSK, the decision to build the PartsAmerica.com website with IIS was a natural one. "We had had a very positive experience with IIS while building CSKAuto.com," said Buresh. "We knew that they could hit the deck running and meet our accelerated timeframe."

In Phase I of the agreement, IIS will be responsible for the PartsAmerica.com website architecture and application management for a contract price of up to $2.3 million. IIS was selected as the full-service provider over several major competitors, including Scient and Viant.

The site developed by IIS for PartsAmerica.com will leverage and integrate the existing vast brick-and-mortar infrastructure that the automotive retail powerhouses possess in their stores and distribution centers. The site will offer customers unprecedented delivery options and highly competitive pricing.

"PartsAmerica.com has an extraordinary opportunity to lead the Web-based retail distribution market for autoparts," said Jim Garvey, president and chief executive officer of IIS. "Our ability to develop the site rapidly was a key factor in PartsAmerica.com's decision to select IIS. We realize that in this quick-paced new economy, speed-to-market is a key determinant to success."
