Budget Rent a Car Television Ad Earns Prestigious Clio Award

12 June 2000

Creative Spot Rises to the Top and Garners Praise from Industry

LISLE, Ill. - Budget Rent a Car's "Aromatherapy" TV spot received a Bronze
Award at the recent Clio TV and Radio Awards Gala held in New York City. The
spot -- which showcases a $49 offer on the Mercury Grand Marquis -- is part of
Budget's current advertising campaign, created by NY-based agency Cliff Freeman & Partners.

"It's such an honor for our brand to be recognized by the advertising
industry with a Clio," stated Mike Gavelek, vice president, marketing, for
Budget Rent a Car. "We feel that the award is also a great tribute to the
success of our partnership with Cliff Freeman & Partners. They understood the
innovative direction that we wanted to take with our latest advertising
campaign and they represented us well."

In its 41st year, Clio recognizes advertising excellence worldwide,
serving as the world's largest advertising awards competition and one of the
most prestigious in the international advertising and business communities.

Budget's latest advertising campaign reflects the move to communicate its
brand message to youthful, techno-savvy consumers.

Since the launch of Budget's campaign last year, it has won numerous
industry awards. Adweek selected "Aromatherapy" as one of the "Best Spots of
the '90s" -- an honor bestowed on only 168 commercials. "Aromatherapy" also
earned a place, one of only fifty, in Adweek's Creative Best Spots for 1999,
chosen from among thousands of commercials.

At the 2000 International ANDY Awards, which honors creative advertising
throughout the world, Budget's "Jet Propulsion" (features Fastbreak express
service) won a prestigious ANDY head, one of only 37 given from among 9,600
entries. In addition, Awards of Merit were given for Budget's "Aromatherapy"
and the TV campaign trio of "Jet Propulsion," "Climb" (rent an Explorer for
the price of a Taurus) and "Ranger" ($19.99 a day).

Two gold pencils, for Budget's "Propulsion" and the multimedia campaign of
TV, radio, and print, and a bronze, for the Budget TV campaign, were also
awarded at the 2000 One Show awards, the highly-regarded annual international
advertising competition.

Budget Rent a Car Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Budget Group,
Inc. , is one of the world's top three car and truck rental systems.
The Budget system, which operates under the same name worldwide, has more than
3,200 airport and local market locations in over 120 countries and
territories. Budget has nearly 1,000 corporate-owned and franchised locations
in the United States. Budget's WorldClass Fleet is comprised of more than 30
percent specialty vehicles, ranging from sport utility vehicles, convertibles
