Merit Oil to Distribute Southern States Power Company's OXyGB-60 Biodiesel for Southern California

    SHREVEPORT, La. - Southern States Power Company is pleased to announce the 
appointment of Merit Oil of Bloomington California as its OXyGB-60 Biodiesel 
distributor for Southern California.  Merit Oil is a distributor for Shell Oil 
, Texaco, and Pacific Pride.  Pacific Pride operates fleet card lock stations 
located on the Interstate Clean Transportation Corridor (ICTC) route in the San 
Bernardino Inland Empire, Riverside and Desert Areas.  Greg Batten, Vice 
President of Merit Oil Company said, "The Inland Empire region of Southern 
California has the largest concentration of rail and truck traffic in California
.  SSPC's marketing of OXyGB-60 Biodiesel will be a relief to the environment 
because it is a clean burning reduction of particulate matter and emissions 
control.  We are confident of marketing at least one to two million gallons of 
OXyGB-60 Biodiesel over the next year."
