McElya Named President of Cooper-Standard Automotive

FINDLAY, Ohio - Cooper Tire & Rubber Company announced on Wednesday the appointment of Jim McElya as president of Cooper-Standard Automotive, one of two operating groups of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company.
Cooper-Standard Automotive is an original equipment automotive component manufacturer specializing in sealing products, NVH control systems and fluid systems. As president of the group, McElya will oversee global operations which include more than 60 manufacturing locations in 13 countries. Pro forma historical annual sales for the group have been about $1.8 billion.
In announcing the appointment, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company chairman, president and CEO Tom Dattilo said, "I am excited to have a man of Jim's stature heading up our Automotive Group. His experience and knowledge of the automotive business are perfectly suited for this position. These combined with his leadership and character give him the essential tools to grow this very important segment of Cooper's business and to integrate the acquired businesses that make up the group. Additionally, Jim's focus on customer delight is consistent with Cooper's long tradition of customer service."
McElya has been serving as president of the Cooper-Standard Automotive Fluid Systems Division. He previously was president of Siebe Automotive Worldwide and has over 20 years of executive and senior management experience in the automotive industry.
