Collins & Aikman Names Martin Plant Manager for Lacolle, Quebec Facility
TROY, Mich. - Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced the appointment of Louis Martin to Plant Manager for its Lacolle, Quebec facility. In making the announcement, Frank Preston, President of Collins & Aikman North American Automotive Interior Systems stated, "Martin's production control background and strong knowledge of the Lacolle facility will be important in further enhancing our Lacolle facility's world-class manufacturing operations."As plant manager, Martin will be responsible for implementing the plant's operating strategy, ensuring consistency of manufacturing operations and identifying and implementing new product and process improvements. Additionally, Martin will be responsible for the Lacolle facility's operating performance and production priorities and procedures. The Lacolle facility produces molded automotive carpet for selected DaimlerChrysler, General Motors and Honda vehicles.
Martin joins Collins & Aikman most recently from Heroux Inc., where he was master planner. Previously, Martin was Production Control Manager at Collins & Aikman's Lacolle facility, and prior to that, he was Production Control Manager for Kvaerner Hymac Inc. Martin holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Quebec.
