Federal-Mogul Appoints G. Michael Lynch Chief Financial OfficerSOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Dick Snell, chairman and chief executive officer, Federal-Mogul Corporation today announced the appointment of G. Michael Lynch, to executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective June 19, 2000. Lynch had been employed by Dow Chemical Company as vice president and controller. Lynch, 57, joined Dow Chemical Company in 1997 after a 29-year career with Ford Motor Company where his most recent position was controller, automotive components division, which ultimately became Visteon. While at Ford, Lynch held a number of varied financial assignments both domestic and international including executive vice president and chief financial officer of Ford New Holland. "Mike has a depth of experience and success at two global companies noted for strong financial management," said Snell. "Having spent years at Ford, Mike brings excellent knowledge of our marketplace. Most notably, he spent his last three years at Ford serving as primary financial officer of their consolidating automotive parts division." Lynch earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University in New York in 1965 and 1966, respectively. He also earned a Master of Science degree in Industrial Administration from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pennsylvania in 1968. He replaces Thomas W. Ryan who resigned from the company in March. Dave Bozynski, vice president and treasurer, had been serving as the interim chief financial officer. "Dave served the company very well in this interim role by providing excellent leadership and helping us improve our business analysis capabilities," said Snell. "With the addition of Mike Lynch, we have an extremely strong financial team." Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, Federal-Mogul is an automotive parts manufacturer providing innovative solutions and systems to global customers in the automotive, light truck, heavy-duty, and farm and industrial markets. The company was founded in 1899.
