IMPCO's Gaseous Fuel Products Division Earns ISO 9001 Registration
    CERRITOS, Calif. - IMPCO Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has 
earned ISO 9001 Registration from Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. at the 
Gaseous Fuel Products Division located in Cerritos, California.

    The ISO 9000 series Standards are internationally recognized quality
management system requirements developed by the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO).  ISO 9001, the most comprehensive Standard in the
ISO 9000 series, covers design, manufacturing, installation and servicing
systems.

    "Preparing for the Registration process and earning Registration have
facilitated to improve the quality of our operations, improve our core
efficiency and decrease manufacturing and service costs," said Mr. Dennis
Hartman, Vice President and General Manager of the Gaseous Fuel Products
Division.  "We're delighted to have earned Registration and are very proud of
every employee who worked to meet the requirements necessary for
Registration," Mr. Hartman continued.
  
    The IMPCO Gaseous Fuel Products Division began the registration process in
1998.  As part of the process, UL performed an on-site assessment, examination
of documentation procedures and a survey of the company's overall operations.
To determine continued compliance with ISO 9001, UL will periodically conduct
routine surveillance audits of IMPCO's operations.

    IMPCO is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of advanced fuel
storage, fuel delivery and electronic control systems that allow internal
combustion engines and fuel cells to operate using clean fuels such as
hydrogen, propane, natural gas and methanol.  We have designed these systems
to optimize the efficiency and performance by electronically sensing and
regulating the proper proportion of fuel and air used by internal combustion
engines and fuel cell systems.  We supply our products to original equipment
manufacturers of motor vehicles, buses, trucks, forklifts, and other material
handling equipment and small portable to large stationary engines.  We supply
to the global aftermarket as well.  We are enablement technology for advanced
propulsion engine.
