7 June 2000
Rich Woodland will be in the #7 Chevy Monte Carlo at The Michigan Speedway in the FLAGSTAR ARCA 200 Saturday, June 10 live on ESPN at 1 PM ET. After three limited seasons in Winston West which included his first of two career NASCAR Winston Cup starts in 1993 at Phoenix, AZ, his first full season in the series in 1995 found him fifth in the final championship standings. After completing on a limited schedule in only a handful of Automobile Racing Club of America Series (ARCA) and NASCAR Winston West races in 1997, he opened up his 1998 season with his first NASCAR Winston West win at Phoenix International Raceway in April. Throughout his career, Rich has finished in the top ten in more than half of the races he has driven his #86 Chevrolet since 1992. The 2000 season is keeping The Rich Woodland Racing Team busy. They took their Craftsman Truck to Daytona for the Craftsman Truck 250 and also ran the truck The Ram Tough 250 by Pepsi in St. Louis MO. Woodland Racing also had their car in Charlotte for the ARCA EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 100. Mechanical problems have forced the Rich Woodland Racing team out of this season's race's prematurely. A broken transmission in Daytona and a faulty shock in the St. Louis NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races and the transmission shifter linkage on the Rich Woodland Racing Chevrolet malfunctioned in Charlotte. The team searching for some good luck and sponsorship as they head for the ARCA race in Michigan on June 10.
