Winder, Ga.'s Jerry Awbrey captured his first career Bud Pole Award over 38 other drivers that attempted to make the 30-car starting field. Bigley's winning average speed was 69.462 mph and his margin of victory was 0.761 seconds. There were a total of five caution periods for 38 laps and two lead changes amongst three drivers. Polesitter Awbrey, Kilby and Bigley all led laps during the 200-lap race. NOTES OF INTEREST · Winder, Ga.'s Jerry Awbrey was the lone driver that prevented a clean sweep for Billy Bigley, Jr. at Lanier in 1999 as Bigley won this event on June 9 and finished second to Awbrey on September 4. · Georgia youngsters Shane Sieg and Ryan Crane, both still in high school yet no strangers to Lanier's 0.375-mile oval could both be factors in Saturday night's race. Pendergrass's Crane has successfully made the starting field in all five races this season while Tucker's Sieg has managed four starts in four attempts with one top-10 finish for his efforts. · Five different drivers have earned Bud Pole Awards in five races this season while there have been three different race winners. Billy Bigley, Jr. and Scott Hansen have each won two races while Jeff Fultz has visited victory once.
