The Favorite Cars of Comparison Shoppers: May 2000
PALO ALTO, Calif., June 5 InvoiceDealers, The Leader in
Automotive Comparison Shopping, released the favorite cars, trucks, SUVs and
minivans of online comparison shoppers in May 2000.
About the Study
The Comparison Shopping Popularity Index(SM) calculates each vehicle's
popularity using a proprietary weighted formula. The study results are derived
from online selections made by car shoppers who view, compare, and choose from
instant competing price quotes on the InvoiceDealers system.
May Results
The Chrysler PT Cruiser beat the perennial favorite Honda Accord for the
second straight month. The Toyota Camry traded places with Honda Civic, taking
third and fourth respectively. And the Toyota Camry made its debut in the top
10 cars, while the Ford Focus dropped out.
The top 7 trucks placed in the same rankings as last month, led by the
Ford F-Series. Its Popularity Index score was more than double that of the
second placed Dodge Ram.
The Ford Explorer has held first place for SUVs since April. But the Ford
Expedition surged from fifth place back into second, a ranking it held in
March.
The Honda Odyssey proved most popular in the minivan category, with the
Toyota Sienna and Chevrolet Venture following behind.
