CarStation.com to Provide Web-Based Tools to Progressive Auto Insurance and Its Totalpro-SM- Network of Collision Repair Facilities

SAN FRANCISCO, June  5, 2000 - CarStation.com (www.carstation.com) today announced that the company will work with Progressive Auto Insurance (NYSE:PGR) to provide e-commerce tools that will enable consumers to use the Internet to locate collision repair facilities in Progressive's network and help the facilities build online marketing and customer service capabilities.
"We're delighted to be working with one of the largest auto insurers in the country.  When it comes to e-commerce, Progressive lives up to its name," CarStation Chairman and CEO Dr. Ron Goldsberry said.  "We will offer their collision repair facilities cutting-edge e-commerce tools that can help them build their business."
More than 800 collision repair facilities in Progressive's network will be offered the CarStation SiteManager*, an easy-to-use toolkit that will help shop owners build and maintain tailored Web sites, helping to market shops' capabilities and facilitate better customer service.  CarStation also will build "locator" functionality on Progressive's Web site (www.progressive.com) that will allow consumers to find collision repair facilities in Progressive's network.
Progressive.com is one of the most frequently visited insurance Web sites and was named easiest to use in a recent survey by a leading e-commerce authority.
"We wanted to provide our network of collision repair facilities with the best possible Internet solutions.  We reviewed other companies' products before choosing CarStation," said Steven Gellen, Progressive's physical damage process leader.
"CarStation's Web tools will help facilities market their capabilities and better serve their customers.  The search functionality at progressive.com will help consumers find shops in Progressive's network that have been pre-approved and whose work comes with a limited lifetime warranty," Gellen added.
Making tools available to Progressive's network of repair facilities is the latest in a series of alliances by CarStation to deliver on its vision of powering the automotive service value chain with Internet-based customer service and operations solutions for all participants - repair shops, suppliers, insurers, and consumers.  Other recent alliances include a supplier partnership with ARA Services Corporation, a for-profit subsidiary of the Automotive Recyclers Association, and repairer partnerships with the Society for Collision Repair Specialists, ABRA Auto Body & Glass, and Caliber Collision Centers.  CarStation also has a partnership with Mitchell International that will facilitate open commerce between users of Mitchell's software systems and CarStation's Internet-based applications.
