UAW Mourns the Passing of Former VP Don Ephlin
3 June 2000
DETROIT - UAW President Stephen P. Yokich issued the following statement yesterday: "Throughout a critical and difficult time for our membership and for the U.S. auto industry, Don Ephlin provided steady and innovative leadership as the UAW Vice President who headed both the Ford and subsequently the General Motors departments of the union. He was a life-long advocate of workplace democracy and a pioneer in crafting many of the employee involvement programs now in place through the auto industry and elsewhere. On behalf of the UAW International Executive Board and the membership, I offer condolences to his family and friends. He will be long remembered by union men and women everywhere."
