American Isuzu Announces 20% Core SUV Sales Increase in May

10-year/120,000 Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, Trooper's 63% Increase Drives Isuzu SUV SalesCERRITOS, Calif - American Isuzu Motors Inc.'s SUV division, today announced that core SUV sales increased 20 percent in May, 2000 compared with the same period a year ago. Year-to-date core SUV sales are up a healthy 15 percent. Trooper's May 2000 sales grew by an impressive 63 percent over May of last year with year-to-date sales up 48 percent. The 2WD version is carving out a solid niche in the Luxury SUV segment. It now represents 38 percent of Trooper sales. Trooper is backed, as are all Isuzu SUVs, by America's Longest Warranty, the 10-year or 120,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty. Rodeo, AIMI's most popular SUV, performed extremely well in the highly competitive four-door compact segment in May. Rodeo sales rose 10 percent this May compared to last with the year-to-date total sales standing at 23,206 units for an increase of seven percent. Features such as Intelligent Suspension Control(TM) and America's Longest Powertrain Limited Warranty continue to make Rodeo AIMI's best selling SUV. Amigo, the most powerful subcompact SUV on the market is up for the year by 1325 units or 31 percent.
