Caliber Collision Centers Appoints Corporate Controller
IRVINE, Calif.--June 1, 2000--Caliber Collision Centers, an Irvine-based operator of high-quality collision repair facilities in California and Texas, Thursday announced that James Matthews has been appointed as the corporate controller, a newly created position to help bolster the growing company which now has 35 locations.Debby Morris, chief financial officer, said Matthews has excellent leadership skills, knowledge of accounting processes and experience as a controller. "I look forward to working with Jim and helping Caliber continue to provide the best collision-repair services in the business. Jim will certainly play a critical role in helping us achieve our goal," Morris said.
Matthews brings approximately 14 years of accounting experience. Prior to joining Caliber Collision Centers, Matthews worked for Edison Capital, the $3 billion financial services subsidiary of Edison International, and was responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for more than 100 legal entities.
Matthews holds an undergraduate degree from the State University of New York Institute of Technology and a Masters of business administration from the University of California, Irvine. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Matthews also serves on the boards of directors for the Orange County chapter of the American Marketing Association and Catholic Men's Fellowship. He resides in Rancho Santa Margarita with his wife Christine and two daughters, Kayla and Noelle.
