Kia Sales Continue to Increase; Spectra Sales Up 306 Percent

    IRVINE, Calif., June 1 Kia today announced sales of 13,709
vehicles for May, an increase of seven percent from May 1999.
    The major contributing factor to May's solid performance was a one-month
306 percent increase in sales of the Kia Spectra.  Year-to-date sales of
58,395 are 14 percent ahead of last year's pace.
    Kia Motors America is the U.S. sales, marketing and service arm of Kia
Motors Corp. in Seoul, South Korea.
