The Return of 'Ford Power Products'

31 May 2000

Name Change for Ford Industrial Powertrain Subsidiary

DEARBORN, Mich - Industrial Power Products, LLC , a wholly owned subsidiary
of Ford Motor Company , has officially changed its name to Ford Power Products,
LLC, returning formally to the name it had gone by for about 30 years.

"We changed our name to Industrial Power Products in 1997 to capitalize on
potential outside business opportunities," said Jack Damron - Ford Power
Products president. "But within the industry -- among dealers, distributors,
customers and competitors -- the new name never really caught on because of
the strong link with our parent company, Ford."

Since 1947, when its affiliation with Ford began, Ford Power Products has
created a niche market leadership position in the industrial, marine, and
specialty car/OEM markets. The company's lineup of engines -- which power a
variety of applications including generators, aerial lifts, wood chippers,
marine applications and specialty cars -- ranges in displacement from 1.3-
liters to 6.8-liters. They are flexible fuel capable, able to run on unleaded
gasoline, compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquid propane gas (LPG).

Ford Power Products, which has 128 employees, is headquartered in
Southfield, Mich., with offices in Cologne, Germany and Aveley, England. FPP
is ISO 9001 certified and holds the Ford Q1 quality award. The organization's
dealers and distributors are known as Ford Power Products operations.
