AMA: Weekend Motorcycle Racing Results, High Point

2000 AMA/Chevy Trucks 250cc U.S. Motocross Championships, Round 3: High Point
Raceway, Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania, May 28, 2000

Honda Red Riders turned in stellar performances as Mother Nature provided rain
and an extremely muddy track for round three of the AMA/Chevy Trucks U.S.
Motocross Championships. Honda factory racer Kevin Windham finished with a 2-2
finish to end the day second overall on his CR250R. Teammates Ezra Lusk and
Sebastien Tortelli finished fourth and fifth, respectively. David Vuillemin
earned the win with his 3-1 tally while noted mud-rider John Dowd finished third
with his 1-5 posting.


Last week's 125cc winner, Steve Lamson, maintained his slim points lead in the
class after going 4-5 for fourth overall on his Works Connection/Troy Lee
Designs-backed CR125R.


 Round 4 moves to Southwick, Massachusetts on Sunday, June 11.

Former 250cc world champion Loris Capirossi took the win Sunday on his Emerson
Pons Honda NSR500R for the second 500 GP victory of his career in front of
70,000 sun-soaked fans at the Italian Grand Prix. The Italian battled throughout
with compatriots Valentino Rossi (Nastro Azzurro Honda NSR500) and Max Biaggi,
however both men crashed in the late stages of the race. The victory also marked
Honda$B!G(Bs 140th 500 GP victory, making Honda the number one factory in the
all-time winners league ahead of MV Agusta. The factory Repsol Honda squad had
