ZAP Orders in Hand Top $1 Million

SEBASTOPOL, Calif.--May 25, 2000--Electric vehicle manufacturer ZAPWORLD.COM announced today that orders in hand have reached $1,008,000, a new high for the year.
The Northern California Company has received a flurry of new business entering the spring buying season, bolstered by national press coverage and strong overseas sales for its electric vehicles. Over the past several weeks, the company's ZAPPY(R) folding electric scooter was featured in USA Today, the San Francisco Chronicle, and the New York Times. The company recently shipped ZAPPY orders totaling $300,000 to Japan and $200,000 to Norway. George Bliss, a dealer in Manhattan said in USA Today that the ZAPPY is "selling like hotcakes."
"Right now we're looking for more production workers to keep up with demand," said ZAPWORLD.COM (ZAP) spokesperson Alex Campbell. "With the summer season just starting, this is a very exciting position to be in."
To boost its production, ZAP is consolidating its Sebastopol manufacturing into a 10,000 square foot facility in Sebastopol that it leased in 1999. The Company currently employs 83 workers.
ZAP introduced a new non-motorized push scooter called the KICK(TM) earlier this month which Campbell says is already experiencing strong consumer demand.
ZAPWORLD.COM is a recognized leader in the emerging consumer electric transportation market, having delivered thousands of units to commuters and recreational cyclists worldwide. ZAP's common shares are listed on Nasdaq Small Cap market under the trading symbol "ZAPP." Its products include electric bicycles, kits, scooters, motorbikes and more.
