Horace Mann Elects Ralph S. Saul Chairman Of The Board Of Directors
SPRINGFIELD, Ill.--May 25, 2000--The Board of Directors of the Horace Mann Educators Corporation has elected Ralph S. Saul Chairman of the Board of Directors.Mr. Saul succeeds Paul J. Kardos who is retiring from employment with the Company.
Mr. Saul has been a Director of the Company since June, 1995. During his career he has served as Director of the Division of Trading and Markets of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, President of the American Stock Exchange, Chief Executive Officer of INA Corporation, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of CIGNA Corporation, and Chairman of the Board of Horace Mann Educators Corporation.
In other action the Board announced a quarterly dividend of 10.50 cents per share payable on June 15, 2000, to shareholders of record as of June 5, 2000.
