                  Four Product Divisions Earn Coveted Award

    TOLEDO, Ohio, May 25 Dana Corporation
announced today that four of its businesses have achieved Supplier of the Year
status from General Motors Corporation.

    GM recognized Dana operations in three regions of the world, including:

    *  Dana's Sealing Products Group, which consists of the Victor Reinz and
       Plumley divisions in North America, for excellence in mechanical
       sealing;
    *  Dana Albarus in Brazil for rubber mounts;
    *  FTE Automotive in Germany for hydraulic clutch actuation systems; and
    *  Wix Filtration Products Europe for filtration and powertrain sealing.

    "Dana is one of our brightest and best suppliers," said Harold R. Kutner,
group vice president, GM Worldwide Purchasing and North American Production
Control & Logistics.  "It is an honor to have them working with us. Their
contributions to General Motors' overall success are immeasurable.  We look
upon the Supplier of the Year award as an important recognition of their value
as an automotive industry supplier."
    Dana Chairman and CEO Joe Magliochetti said, "It is a real honor to have

recognition of the Dana people throughout the world who have provided
exceptional service, quality, innovation, and technology in meeting -- and
exceeding -- the expectations of one of our largest customers.
    GM's Supplier of the Year recognition was established in 1992. A global
team of GM executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and
logistics selects award winners based on suppliers' quality, service,
technology, and price performance.
    This year, GM honored 181 suppliers from 22 countries with its highest
recognition. GM officials said that less than one percent of GM's total supply
base was recognized.
    Dana Corporation is one of the world's largest independent suppliers to
vehicle manufacturers and their related aftermarkets.  Founded in 1904 and
based in Toledo, Ohio, the company operates some 320 major facilities in 32
countries and employs more than 82,000 people. The company reported sales of
