Michael Evans Appointed to Key DaimlerChrysler Advance Engineering Post
    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 24 DaimlerChrysler Corporation is
pleased to announce that effective immediately, Michael Evans is appointed
Vice President - Advance Vehicle Engineering, reporting to Richard O. Schaum,
Senior Vice President - Platform Engineering & Quality and General Manager
Power Train Operations.  Evans joins DaimlerChrysler Corporation from Ford
Motor Company.
    In this position, Evans is responsible for all Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep(R)
advance vehicle architecture and feasibility analysis.
    "Mike comes to us with over 25 years of broad automotive experience
ranging from engineering, to manufacturing, to product planning," said Schaum.
"We look forward to utilizing his expertise and leadership including
experience in refining vehicle engineering process."
    At Ford, Evans' career included positions as Director of Global Line -
Lincoln, Mercury; Vehicle Line Director of Compact Sport Utilities; Director
of Power Train Operations; and a Special Assignment to redesign Ford's Product
Development Process.  Evans began his career in Power Train and Chassis
Systems Engineering.
    Evans replaces Eric R. Ridenour who was recently appointed Vice President
- Product Planning.
