(PRNewsFoto)[DM] TOLEDO, OH USA 09/03/1999PARIS, Tenn., May 22 Dana Corporation's Composite Sealing Center, part of the Plumley Division, has received Ford Motor Company's Q1 Award for quality and product support. The Q1 Award "recognizes supplier facilities and organizations that have achieved a sustained level of excellence in customer satisfaction, while meeting systems and results requirements in quality, engineering, delivery, and materials management." (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990903/DANA ) Dana's Plumley Composite Sealing Center is dedicated to the development of thermoset and thermoplastic cam cover sealing assemblies consisting of the cover, silicone gasket, and grommets. The center supplies Ford with thermoset cam cover modules, which are manufactured in an injection compression cell. The modules are assembled in a highly automated cell providing full-functional leak testing prior to shipment. Design work also is facilitated in-house at Plumley's Sealing & Plastic Design Center. The Composite Sealing Center received QS-9000 certification in November 1999 and MS-9000 certification in March 2000. Due to significant growth, the building was recently expanded from 60,000 square feet to 82,000 square feet. "Plastics offer lower cost, lighter weight, and greater design flexibility to the customer," said Heinz Eilks, vice president of sealing products for Dana's Engine Systems Group. "We are very pleased that Ford Motor Company has recognized Plumley's continued excellence in this area."
