LONDON--May 22, 2000--Skynet Telematics.Com Inc. (OTCBB:SKYI) is pleased to announce the signing of a Joint Venture agreement and exclusive head franchise agreement for Skynet's "Skamp" range of automotive and marine telematic products, with Lancry Protection Securite S.A., (Lancry), for the countries of France, Spain and Russia.This agreement provides that Lancry Protection Securite are forming a Joint Venture company to be owned 50% by SKYI and 50% by Lancry, through which the Joint Venture will have the exclusive rights to market, monitor and promote the "Skamp" range of automotive and marine telematics products and services in France, Spain and Russia.
This agreement covers all current market sectors i.e. automotive, rental car, fleet management, motorbike, marine, agricultural machinery, generators, R.V.'s, anti-hijack, personal security and concierge markets. It is also agreed that the emerging telematic markets of medical telematics and tracking (MTT); Children and VIP kidnap telematics tracking and geofencing (CVTTG), are also included in this agreement for France, Spain and Russia.
Lancry and SKYI and SKYI other European Joint Venture partners have also agreed to create a unique "corridor of safety" through Europe, between the French Coast line and Russia. The "corridor of safety" will allow vehicles to be monitored and tracked, with full multi-lingual emergency response as they drive through each European country. In each country covered by this "corridor of safety", drivers will be able to check local driving conditions, weather, and real time "turn by turn" routing. In the event of an attack, hi-jack, accident or medical problem, the nearest "Skamp" monitoring station will immediately alert the correct emergency, police or private security service (in their own language) and direct them to the vehicle. "Intervention teams" will be positioned at strategic points along the corridor to provide immediate response.
This unique service is expected to dramatically reduce hi-jack incidents, improve driver productivity and reassure the driver and employer that vehicle and driver are never alone. Skamp multilingual, monitoring, security, telematics, routing and concierge services, available 24 hours a day 365 days a year country by country all the way to Russia. This unique service is expected to result in substantial reductions in insurance premiums.
Lancry Protection Securite S.A. is a private French group of companies specialising in electronic surveillance, protection and security mainly in France. Lancry have existing relationships with Security companies in many other countries and has particularly strong commercial relationships with Russia and Spain. Lancry are expert in monitoring properties and persons, intervention on site, installation of all forms of electronic alarm systems, access control and video surveillance and monitoring. The Lancry Group have a turnover of in excess of 230m French Francs (US$35m) and approximately 10,000 employees. Lancry will initially commence "Skamp" operations, marketing and monitoring from its monitoring station at Pressac near Bordeaux, France.
