NTT Europe and MODCOMP Partner to Resell AutoWeb File Transfer Solution To Auto, Aerospace IndustriesAgreement Will Help Promote Global, Open Supply Chain Management Network FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 22 MODCOMP(R), Inc. (http://www.modcomp.com), a subsidiary of CSP Inc. and a leading developer of E-commerce and M-business solutions, today announced a groundbreaking agreement allowing MODCOMP to promote and sell NTT Europe's AutoWeb integration services to the automotive and aerospace industries throughout Europe. The agreement between UK based MODCOMP Ltd. and NTT Europe Ltd., a subsidiary of NTT Communications, positions AutoWeb as the first step toward a global and open network for supply chain management (SCM). AutoWeb is an independent service that focuses upon the automotive and aerospace industries. The AutoWeb range of services promotes the secure transfer of textual and CAD/CAM based engineering data between an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and its suppliers. Using a variety of methods, such as separation from Internet encryption and authentication technologies, AutoWeb ensures the security of data transfer. More than 3,000 manufacturers currently subscribe to AutoWeb, among them America's 'Big Three' (Daimler-Chrysler, Ford and GM) and AutoWeb is on course to become the de facto file transfer product for the automotive industry. AutoWeb also enjoys great success in Japan. Honda, currently the largest Japanese customer, employs AutoWeb on a global basis. NTT Communications Group launched the Global AutoWeb File Exchange(TM) Service (G-AFX(TM)) during December 1999 when it connected three AutoWeb Servers in Tokyo, Detroit, and London. It is now launching new points of presence (POPs) in Germany and France. NTT Communications positions AutoWeb as the first step towards global and open network for supply chain management (SCM). It plans to add collaboration engineering functionality to AutoWeb and to establish new POPs in accordance with the demand. It eventually aims to provide the total SCM platform by connecting AutoWeb with EDI and electronic commerce applications. "As an application integration services provider with a number of customers in the UK's automotive industry, MODCOMP is ideally placed to provide end-user integration services in support of NTT Europe's AutoWeb initiative," said Rob Crigler, vice president marketing, MODCOMP E-commerce Division. "AutoWeb -- when integrated with E-Business solutions -- will significantly increase productivity levels for customers by automating business processes for planning, scheduling, ordering and tracking changes in design and manufacturing."
