Delphi and Plastech Create Joint Venture
between Delphi Automotive Systems and Plastech Engineered
Products, Inc., one of the largest minority-owned automotive interior and
exterior trim components suppliers.
                Both Companies Benefit From New Ford Business

    WARREN, Ohio, May 18 Expanding business opportunities with
vehicle manufacturers is the objective of a new joint venture announced today

    The venture, to be called Automotive Modular Concepts, L.L.C., is a
strategic venture with Delphi's Packard Electric Division to manufacture and
supply vehicle power and signal distribution system assemblies.  The venture
will also pursue potential cockpit assembly business.
    "This new alliance expands our minority supplier base and strengthens our
ability to win new business," said David R. Heilman, vice president, Delphi
and president Delphi Packard Electric.  "Plastech has a very strong business
foundation and is capable of handling a diversified product mix.  We look
forward to growing together."
    Ford Motor Co. has awarded the joint venture the wiring business for a
future vehicle.  Delphi Packard Electric will act as the electrical/electronic
systems integrator for the program.
    "We believe that Automotive Modular Concepts will strengthen our ability
to win business from Ford and other customers who are looking for minority
suppliers with strong automotive expertise," Heilman said.
    Delphi owns 49 percent of Automotive Modular Concepts; Plastech owns 51
percent.
