Wolverine Awarded Contract With Radicon in Thailand
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., May 17 Wolverine Tube, Inc.
today announced that it has received a contract from Radicon Co., Ltd. in
Thailand to supply the company with fabricated products. Wolverine will
supply Radicon with a significant amount of precision drawn and cut copper
alloy tube from its fabricated products facility in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Radicon is a manufacturer and supplier of automotive parts to OEMs and
distributors. Radicon has been a customer of Ratcliffs Canada, Ltd. since
1998. As a result of the Wolverine Ratcliffs, Inc. ("WRI") joint venture, WRI
now provides a broader product offering -- not only in strip products, but all
Wolverine products. Radicon is taking advantage of the relationship and is
expanding its purchases from Wolverine. Radicon will use the copper alloy
tube in the manufacture of concentric transmission oil coolers.
Commenting on the announcement, Bob Wordham, Wolverine's Senior Vice
President of Fabricated Products, said, "This contract demonstrates the global
selling opportunities that result from WRI's contacts and Wolverine's broad
product offering. I believe that this contract will be the first of many as
we leverage Wolverine's brand name and WRI's global customer base."
