CarsDirect.com Plans Initial Public Offering

    LOS ANGELES--May 16, 2000--CarsDirect.com today announced that a registration statement has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the initial public offering of its common stock on the NASDAQ National Market under the trading symbol CRSD.
    The managing underwriters of the offering are Merrill Lynch, acting as lead manager, and Chase H&Q, Robertson Stephens and E*OFFERING acting as co-managers.
