Lee Iacocca's EV Global Motors Company the Recipient of Clean Air Award; Company Recognized for Their Efforts to Promote Zero Emission Transportation
LOS ANGELES, May 15 Lee Iacocca's EV Global Motors Company
was awarded a Clean Air Award recently at the Coalition for Clean Air's Annual
Award Luncheon. Presented to EV Global Motors in recognition of the company's
efforts to promote zero emission transportation to a broad audience, the award
luncheon was held at the legendary Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles and was
attended by more than 300 business, environmental and elected leaders from
around the state.
"We are truly excited to be winning an award of this stature," noted Lee
Iacocca, "since I think electric is the future of transportation. I've seen a
lot of changes in the alternative fuel market from both a consumer and a
production standpoint. It's nice to make a real difference to people and be
recognized for promoting something you believe in."
Founded by automotive legend Iacocca to address the changing
transportation needs, issues and concerns of today's consumer, EV Global
Motors Company attracted the attention of the Coalition for Clean Air with the
introduction of their E-Bike.
Considered to be the most advanced electric bike in the world, the E-Bike
is constructed of a strong, yet lightweight chromoly steel frame and features
an onboard charging system. It has a top speed of 15 mph and a range of
approx. 20 miles on a single charge. Operated like a standard bicycle, the
400-watt, hub-mounted motor can be engaged with a flick of the thumb throttle,
turning the E-Bike into a motorized vehicle. The energy source is a
detachable 24-volt lead acid battery system that can be plugged into any
standard 110-volt household outlet -- full recharging takes approximately four
hours.
