Collins & Aikman Strengthens its Financial And Information Systems Organization
    TROY, Mich., May 15 Collins & Aikman Corporation
today announced the appointment of Henry M. Danziger as Vice
President and Chief Information Officer; James L. Murawski as Vice President
of Finance and Corporate Controller and the promotion of Kenneth J. Arndorfer
to Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis.  In making the
announcement, Rajesh Shah, Executive Vice President and CFO, stated, "The
appointments of Danziger and Murawski, coupled with the promotion of
Arndorfer, significantly strengthens Collins & Aikman's Finance and
Information Systems organizations."
    As Chief Information Officer, Danziger will lead the effort in positioning
information technology as a competitive advantage for Collins & Aikman by
leveraging the Company's global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
Additionally, with his extensive background in automotive information systems,
Danziger will also focus his attention on developing and implementing the
Corporation's E-Commerce strategy.
    Danziger joins Collins & Aikman with a substantial automotive and
information systems background.  His most recent assignment was Vice
President, Information Systems at Johnson Controls for the Controls Group and,
prior to that, was Director of Information and Engineering Systems for their
Automotive Group.  Danziger also held various financial and systems management
positions at Rockwell Automotive before joining Johnson Controls, Inc.  He
holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Pratt Institute, New
York, and a master's of science in management from Oakland University, Auburn
Hills, Mich.
    Murawski, as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller, will be
responsible for Collins & Aikman's financial and business support services,
which are fundamental to achieving the Corporation's operational and financial
objectives.  He will also be responsible for internal and external financial
reporting; maintaining world-class internal control systems and implementing
best practices and processes throughout the financial organization.
    Murawski joins Collins & Aikman from TRW Automotive - Chassis Systems
Division.  With an extensive background with major OEMs and automotive
suppliers, Murawski has also held positions that include Director of
Accounting for LucasVarity; Director of Planning and Control - Financial
Analysis and Controller of Accounting for Kelsey-Hayes and Senior Manager,
Audit Department with Deloitte & Touche.  A Certified Public Accountant,
Murawski earned both a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of
Detroit, Detroit, Mich., and a master's of science degree in taxation from
Walsh College, Troy, Mich.

Aikman's leadership team," said Shah.  "Both individuals have extensive
automotive backgrounds in their respective areas of expertise and I'm
confident that their addition will accelerate the achievement of all our
business objectives."
    In addition, Shah also announced the promotion of Kenneth J. Arndorfer to
Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis from Executive Director of
Operations Analysis.  "As with the appointments of Danziger and Murawski,
Arndorfer demonstrates the leadership skills and expertise in operations and
finance necessary to improve our operating efficiencies," said Shah.  "With
his broadened responsibilities, Arndorfer will play an important role in
helping Collins & Aikman improve its overall operational efficiencies."
