Kia Announces Marketing Change

    IRVINE, Calif. - Marketing Manager Rick Weisehan was appointed director of 
marketing today following the resignation of Jim Sanfilippo, former 
vice president of marketing.  Sanfilippo had been with Kia more than five years 
in distribution and marketing roles.

    "Jim was a very loyal and hard-working employee who will be missed," said
Dick Macedo, executive vice president of marketing and sales.  "But I think
Rick will be able to step in and manage the marketing function in a very
professional and enthusiastic way."

    Weisehan has been with Kia nearly three years in a number of marketing
roles.

    Kia Motors America is the sales, marketing and distribution arm of Kia
Motors Corp. in Seoul, South Korea.
